Autumn Harvest Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Autumn Harvest Blog Hop!

Where I live, autumn is pretty much done by now. The leaves are all off the trees, and frankly, things are looking pretty bleak. Bare black trees, brown grass. But yet it's not winter either. We've had a few skiffs of snow, but it hasn't lasted, so there's not even enough snow to make it pretty and wintery. So this is a sort of mini "sub-season" of autumn, in my mind! It should be named the grey season, I think. :-)

On the bright side, we haven't had to shovel snow yet, and the raking of leaves is all done and it's a little too early to be thinking about Christmas shopping (right? RIGHT?) so there's time for other things, like writing and reading. Reading in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine or hot chocolate is one of my favourite things to do (if I can't be sitting outside on my deck in the sun!). Tell me what you're reading now in the comments - I'm giving away a $10 gift card to winner's choice of Amazon, B&N or Kobo.

Also please include your email address in the comments so I can contact you and also so that we can notify the grand prize winners, who will be chosen from ALL the comments on the blog hop!

The closest to being in control we’ll ever be is that moment when we realize…we're not.
Grace Pearson is a wife, mother, lawyer. She’s smart and funny, strong and independent. And maybe a little neurotic. She has it all—except nobody told her having it all would be so hard. All she wants is a little more help from her husband, a little more time for them to have sex, and a little more respect from her mother. She also likes to worry. It gives her a feeling of control. After all, if you worry about something enough, it won’t happen—right?
Grace’s husband Rob teaches Phys. Ed., plays hockey with the guys and has fun with their kids. He’s a great dad and a faithful husband, but he’s not good with money and not exactly diligent about helping out with household duties. When Grace falls down the stairs and breaks her arm, he has to step up and take responsibility for their family.
After her fall, Grace worries there’s something terribly wrong with her that the doctors have missed. She worries that she’ll be disabled for the rest of her life. The one thing she doesn’t worry about, the thing that sneaks up on her, is her marriage falling apart. When Grace goes from having it all to losing it all, she has to look deep inside herself for the strength to fight to get her life back the way it was. But does she really want her life back the way it was?

  6. It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!

  19. My favorite thing about Autumn is the changing color of the leaves. They are so pretty. My least favorite thing is raking up those pretty leaves. LOL I love to sit by the fire and read a great romance book. I'm currently reading "Already Freakin Mated" right by the fire. Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>

  38. I love autumn with all the brilliant colors: oranges, yellows and reds of leaves. I love crisp, cool mornings where the sky is so blue it looks endless and the air is so fresh in your lungs. I love snuggling up in a warm throw on a cold autumn day with a good book. Of course, I love snuggling up with a good book about anytime of the year. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time to remember all the many blessings in my life and express thanks. I love baking spicy pumpkin pies with dollops of cream.

I like stories of the unexpected. I also love the steamy passion but I hate mentioning favorite authors because the list is long. I appreciate the many styles authors use to weave stories of mystery, love, intrigue, preternatural and inspiration. I love reading because I can go anywhere, any time in my mind and imagine indescribable things.

Thank you for this contest and the opportunity to be introduced to new authors.
